Swanwick Men’s Shed is to begin a re-opening the shed on a limited basis with a view of returning to normal operations if the trial goes well.
The initial opening date is currently scheduled for August 5 and any members wishing to take part should get in touch with management to register their interest where they can also pass any comments or concerns regarding the trial.
The shed has remained closed since the end of March due to concerns over the coronavirus so signs of life at the award-winning project are to be warmly welcomed after four months away.
Initial access will be open to existing members only at specific times. Wednesdays between 13:30-15:50 and Saturdays between 10:00-15:00, a Covid risk assessment has been carried out and members will need to book a place through Stefan who will also be handling a contact/trace system.
For safety reasons only well ventilated and outdoor spaces will open, allowing three/four people per session working outdoors. Hand sanitiser, washing stations, and wipes will be available and should be used regularly.
Although the shed will be restricted to existing members only when its doors open next Wednesday enquiries for new members are still welcomed.
